Our SEND Vision
We pride ourselves in providing inspiring and nurturing SEND provision which meets all the varying levels of need. High quality teaching is a priority for all pupils in our school including those with SEND. Adaptive teaching is used as a method of meeting the needs of all learners whilst maintaining high expectations. All learners are encouraged to access the same curriculum content if appropriate. We have high aspirations and a clear understanding of our SEND learners individual needs which are recorded in pupil profiles. We choose and plan activities and experiences for our SEND learners based on these, in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
SEND Local Offer
Under the new SEND code of practice, local authorities must publish a Local Offer, setting out in one place information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disabled, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care (EHCP) plans. In setting out what they 'expect to be available', local authorities should include provision which they believe will actually be available.
The Local Offer has two key purposes:
- To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it, and
- To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disabled children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review
This is Our Local offer which sets out what provision and support is available at St Cecilia's Junior School for disabled children and children with SEN. This offer was created in conjunction with parents, staff and governors of St Cecilia's Junior School. If you require more information or wish to view the school please do not hesitate to contact the school on 0151 228 1760
Liverpool's local offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND), their parents or carers- all in one place
